REFLECTION
I
believe Wikis are great educational tools that can be implemented into the
classroom. It can be utilized for group
planning, collaboration, writing, and editing.
More specifically, I already have four ideas on how I would like to
implement the Wiki into an elementary classroom: 1. The
students can use a Wiki to work collaboratively to come up with a study guide
for their quizzes and tests. 2. If we are studying a certain topic in the classroom,
I could set up a Wiki for students to provide additional information on the
topic. From their research or
experience, the students could add information, pictures, links to relevant
websites, videos, etc. 3. Students could use a Wiki to write and edit
their own work and that of their peers as well.
They can check and edit each other’s spelling, grammar, fluency,
etc. 4.
For fun, a Wiki could be created to make a classroom scrapbook. Everyone can contribute information they have
learned, pictures from fieldtrips, and additional websites that are relevant to
classroom learning/activities.
